Hire dedicated developers who work only on your product, every day, inside your stand-ups, your tools and your repositories. Shikinox runs an offshore development team differently from a staffing agency: every engineer has passed our technical interview and a paid trial task, works under a senior tech lead who reviews every line, and overlaps live with Toronto for four hours each day.
Who this is for
- A product company whose roadmap is longer than its team, and which needs more engineers without a six-month hiring cycle.
- A founder who has shipped a first version and now needs a steady team to keep shipping without rebuilding the hiring pipeline every quarter.
- An engineering leader who wants to extend the team with senior people who can be trusted with real work, not only with tickets nobody else wants.
If you need one senior voice rather than a team, see technical leadership. If the work has a clear end, a fixed-scope project may suit you better; compare ways to work with us.
Problems we solve
Hiring takes too long. A senior hire in North America takes months of sourcing, interviewing and notice periods, and the roadmap waits. A dedicated team starts in 1 to 2 weeks, because the interviewing and trial work has already been done on our side.
Offshore teams that go quiet. Time zones fail when everything is asynchronous. We overlap 4 hours live with Toronto, 9am to 1pm Eastern, so stand-ups, reviews and calls happen in your hours. Afternoons are async, with written updates and quick replies, and work continues overnight so new work lands before your morning coffee.
Code quality you cannot see. When a vendor's engineers report only to the vendor, problems surface late. Our senior tech lead reviews every line before it reaches your main branch, and tests and CI run in your pipeline where you can see them.
Turnover that resets the team. People move on. When someone leaves, we replace them at no cost, with overlap and a written handover, and because documentation is written as we go the new engineer is productive quickly.
Rigid contracts. Products change shape. You can scale the team up or down with two weeks' notice, and you pay monthly, per engineer, by international bank transfer in USD or CAD. No prices are published because every team is quoted on its shape and seniority.
Knowledge that leaves with the vendor. Everything the team produces lives in your repositories and your tools from the first commit. You own all code, designs and IP as we go, so there is nothing to migrate if the engagement ends.
How we approach it
The same four steps as every Shikinox engagement, applied to building a team.
Discover. A free call about your product, your stack, your current team and the gaps. Within 48 hours you get a written scope: team shape, seniority mix, who leads it and when they can start.
Design. We agree the working agreement before anyone writes code: which repositories and branching rules, which CI, which ticket tracker and chat, when the stand-up falls inside the overlap window and which day is demo day. Every engineer has already passed a technical interview and a paid trial task, and you meet them before the first sprint.
Build. The team joins your stand-ups and works in two-week sprints with a demo every week. The tech lead reviews every pull request, keeps the test suite honest and sends a written update at the end of your afternoon. Work continues overnight on what was agreed that day.
Scale. Grow or shrink the team with two weeks' notice. Handover documentation is kept current from the start, so adding or rotating an engineer never stalls delivery.
A day with your offshore development team
Your morning, 9am to 1pm Eastern, is live: stand-up, pairing, code review and any calls that need both sides. Your afternoon is async: the team answers questions in your chat and posts a written update before signing off. Overnight, agreed work gets done and pull requests are waiting for review when you log in.
What we build with
Your stack, inside your tools. Our engineers work daily in TypeScript across React, Next.js, Node.js, PostgreSQL and React Native, the stack our founder has shipped production software with for more than five years. For delivery they use Docker, GitHub Actions and Azure or AWS, and for tests Vitest and Playwright. These are the tools we choose for our own work, so the team is productive from the first sprint rather than learning on your time.
We do not bring a project management tool of our own. The team commits to your GitHub or GitLab, picks up tickets in your Jira or Linear, talks in your Slack or Teams and ships through your CI. If you do not have these set up yet, we set them up in your accounts, not ours.
A project our founder has led
Our founder is lead developer on a tenant screening and property management SaaS for the Canadian rental market, a production platform where every property company runs as an isolated tenant on its own domain. The work covers four role-based portals, session auth with Google and GitHub OAuth plus two-factor, 6+ screening providers merged into one automated PDF report, Stripe usage-based billing, BullMQ background workers, a 59-table PostgreSQL schema with versioned migrations and CI/CD to Azure. That is the kind of sustained, end-to-end production work a dedicated team exists to do, and the standard your team is reviewed against.
What you get
- An NDA signed before you share any details; everyone on the team signs one too.
- Full ownership of all code, designs and IP, transferred as we go, in your repositories.
- Weekly demos and written updates, so you always know what shipped.
- A written scope within 48 hours of the first call.
- A reply within 24 hours, every time.
- A team that starts in 1 to 2 weeks.
Tell us roughly what you need and we will come back with an exact quote in writing within 48 hours. The team planner helps you sketch a team shape, and a project brief is the fastest way to start the conversation.

Can we interview the engineers before they start?
Yes. Every engineer has already passed our technical interview and a paid trial task; you can meet them on a call before the first sprint and say no to anyone who is not the right fit.
Who manages the team day to day?
A senior tech lead on our side, with our founder involved in every engagement. You set priorities in your own backlog and stand-ups; the tech lead turns them into sprint work, reviews every pull request and reports to you in writing.
Which hours will the team be available?
Live from 9am to 1pm Eastern for stand-ups, reviews and calls, then async for the rest of your afternoon with written updates. Work continues overnight, so new work is waiting when you log in.
Can we change the team size later?
Yes. Scale up or down with two weeks' notice. New engineers go through the same interview and trial task, and anyone rolling off writes a handover first.
Do you work in our tools or yours?
Yours. The team commits to your repositories, uses your ticket tracker and chat, and ships through your CI. Nothing lives on our side that you would have to migrate later.
